The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has established up an inter-ministerial committee to probe the many violations of authorized provisions by the Rajiv Gandhi Basis, Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Rely on and Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust.
The committee will coordinate investigations into violation of provisions like the Prevention of Dollars Laundering Act (PMLA), Cash flow Tax Act and International Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA) by these foundations, a Household Ministry formal explained.
The formal stated that a Exclusive Director of Enforcement Directorate will head the committee.
The Rajiv Gandhi Basis was established on June 21, 1991. The foundation will work on a array of challenges, including literacy, health and fitness, disability, empowerment of the underprivileged, livelihood and organic source management. Its existing emphasis areas are training, disability and purely natural useful resource administration.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi is the Chairperson of the Rajiv Gandhi Basis. Previous Primary Minister Manmohan Singh, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram are associates of the board.
