Dear Apex Community, This has been an interesting year in many ways. The staff and I have witnessed and counseled businesses that either struggled to stay afloat, consolidated or simply threw in the towel. This once in a life time economic downturn is nationwide, touching all in someform.

As a result of this very poor economy, the Apex Chamber is also struggling. Membership is down from where it was last year at this time, and it will take us quite some time to recover what was lost. We feel we have a ‘product’ worth value and we know that members not renewing have to make a choice between paying the light bill or paying their dues… one is necessary and one is optional. We understand and for those that could not afford to renew now, we will welcome you with open arms when you can.

We would like to say ‘thank you’ to the whole community for supporting us for the past 51 years. You have enabled us to help other businesses, residents, prospective residents, civic groups, the local education system, festivals, Christmas parade, and so many other events and services that the chamber is involved with. We look forward to being here another 50 years to help keep Apex the peak of good living! Sincerely, Brenda Steen Executive Director The Annual Chamber Guide — Advertising Space Available The 2010 annual Chamber publication is in its planning stages and will be available the first week in January. As always, we look forward to unveiling this wonderful resource to not only our members, but to prospective businesses and residents. Advertising sales have begun, if you want to secure a spot in this year-round publication with a diverse distribution and more than 15,000 readers, contact us today. There is no other publication like this in Apex, jump onboard and prepare now for exposure you want in 2010. Upcoming Events

Home Video Studio recently won three Hanley Awards and the Relationship Mindset Award at the 9th annual Home Video Studio (HVS) Getaway at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Hanley Awards are HVS' version of the Oscars, which recognize achievement in the movie industry. Home Video Studio is the largest international video production services franchise with studios located in the United States, Canada and Sweden.

Studio owners Peter and Sharon Galluzzo received seven nominations for their video work out of the 33 Hanley award categories. Studio owners from across the world entered to win Best Video Production, Best Documentary, and Best of Show to name a few types of honors.

Home Video Studio-Apex won for its work in the Best Event Video, Best Video Lifestories and Best Open House categories. The Apex Historical Society's oral history project inspired the Video Lifestories Award which included four local women telling stories of Apex in years gone by.

HVS studio owners provide at least 27 different types of professional video services. Some of those services include video to DVD transfers, photo/video montage keepsakes, home movie transfers, videotape duplication, video editing, legal video services, and sports or music scholarship videos.
