Reading went to the dogs at the Fuquay-Varina Public Library on Saturday and kids and dogs settled in for a morning of books. Adina Stephenson, age 10, and Katalina Street, 6, were just two of about 50 children who enjoyed reading to trained certified dogs Abbey, Guido and Freddy. See Spot Read is a new program for school age readers. The program starts on will continue on the first Saturday of each month (excluding December). Just stop in – no registration is required.

The program is designed to provide a safe and fun educational experience that brings dogs and kids together to boost reading skills. During the program, kids will have a chance to read in small groups with a specially trained and certified therapy dog. For more information about the See Spot Read organization, you can visit them at their website: www.seespotread.com.
