Governor holds press conference at AMS

Gov. Pat McCrory announced the formation of a new center that will study ways to make schools safer last week during a press conference held at Apex Middle School. Longtime Wake County educator Kym Martin will lead the center, which falls under the Department of Public Safety. Also attending the conference were Department of Public Safety Secretary Kieran Shanahan, Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson and Wake County Sheriff Donnie Harrison.
