Whether you’re a born Southerner or not, you’ll enjoy “Southern Cooking: High and Low, a brief history of the cuisine of the South” at Eva Perry Regional Library on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at 7 p.m. Presenter John J. Beck, Ph.D will speak about the different traditions and ingredients that make today’s Southern cuisine so delicious and irresistible. This project is made possible by a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council, a statewide nonprofit and affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Please RSVP at 919-387-2100.
Job seekers have two opportunities each week to get help with resumes and job hunting at Eva Perry Regional Library. Each Tuesday a JobLink/Americorps volunteer is at the library between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to give assistance with resume preparation, job seeking tips, and other career-related help. On Thursday mornings a trained instructor from Success! Job Assistance through Wake Tech will be at Eva Perry Regional Library from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to help you look for and apply for current openings. Feel free to walk in either morning. Fish the Magish - K-5th graders, Saturday, June 23, 2012, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. “Fish the Magish” comedy educational presentations include a refreshing mix of storytelling, lively audience participation, and magical surprises for everyone! June 13 - Decorate Your Pillowcase- Listen to stories, play a game and bring your own pillowcase to tie dye.
June 20 - Cotton Candy Science- Mad Science will launch a rocket, play with balloons, and make cotton candy all using heat.
June 27 - Live Raptors—Steve Stone from American Wildlife Refuge will bring live raptors to the library.
July 4 – Library Closed
July 11 – Be Careful What You Wish For - Having a wish come true sounds like a lot of fun, right? As we’ll see, it’s not always that simple. Silly stories, Pin the Sausage on the Nose game, wishing well craft, and more.
July 18 – Space Explorers- Make a flying saucer and enter the flying saucer contest - will your spaceship be the winner? Also watch rockets blast off using different kinds of propellants: Alka-Seltzer, rubber bands, and wind power.
July 25 – Dreamcatchers- Explore Native American legends then make your own dreamcatcher.
August 1 – End of Summer Camp Out! - Enjoy stories and games ‘round a “campfire,” watch out for the bubble snake, and make a sit-upon for your own outdoor adventures.

July 19—Inventions—Discover the world of inventions. We will read about Leonardo Da Vinci, visionary of his time and design our own inventions.
July 26—Mystery at the Library—Who is the culprit in these fairy tale crimes? Hear several books and help us solve the mystery.
August 2—Talent Show and Finale—Bring your family to this final program. We welcome you to share your talents and the items you have created this summer.
