The 2010 edition of Christmas on Salem Street sponsored by the Apex Downtown Business Association will be our biggest year ever.
All of the stores in the downtown historic district are ready for the Christmas rush. This years celebration will be as follows:
4:00 p.m. - Selling of tickets for Sleigh and Carriage Rides in front of the Apex Chamber of Commerce.
5:- 5:30 p.m. - Christmas Caroling ( at Chamber of Commerce) by the Panther Creek High School Chamber Choir under the direction of Brad Bensen
5:30 p.m. - Welcome from the President Apex Downtown Business Association. Senior Pastor Powell Osteen, Apex United Methodist Church will lead everyone in prayer. There will be an introduction of a special guest and the introduction of Mayor Keith Weatherly
5:50 p.m. - Official Lighting of the Apex Christmas Tree by Mayor Weatherly
5:55 p.m. - Arrival of Santa Claus in front of fire station
6-9:00 p.m. - Sleigh and Carriage Rides Note: Most of the downtown stores will be serving hot cider or delicious Christmas treats. Saturday, November 4
7-11 a.m. - Apex Rotary Club Famous Christmas Pancake Breakfast
10:00 a.m. - Arrival of Santa Claus and “Pictures with Santa” Note: The two events above will take place at the downtown Fire Station
10 a.m. - 5 p.m. - Downtown Merchants displaying their “Christmas Best.”
3-6 p.m. - Apex Sunrise Rotary Club will sell hot dogs and hot chocolate at downtown fire station
5:00 p.m. - Annual Apex Rotary Club Christmas Parade.This will be our biggest parade in many years. It is still not to late to sign up for the parade. Call Brenda Steen - 919-362-6456 Sunday, December 5
1-5 p.m. - Annual Christmas Parade of Homes sponsored by the Apex Historical Society. The Apex Downtown Business Association wishes to thank the citizens of Apex for their “Shop at Home” attitude during these poor economic months.
