The Wake County Sheriff’s Adventure Camp visited the County’s Fire Training Facility last week in New Hill. The students were given demonstrations on house fire response, high rise operations, firefighter survival and fire extinguishers. The students were given the opportunity to assist with portions of the demonstrations with close supervision by firefighters, which included the Apex Fire Department. The camp, which started in 2003, is free and open to Wake County students who have completed the sixth or seventh grade in 2011-2012, and is designed for students who have an interest in law enforcement.
