United States Air Force Heritage of America Band— “The Heritage Ramblers” The USAF Heritage Ramblers, a part of the Heritage of America Band, was formed in 2010. Under the leadership of TSgt John Garcia, the group’s mission is to preserve and present the rich heritage of traditional jazz. With the music of such legends as Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, Jack Teagarden, and Bix Beiderbecke as their guide, Heritage Ramblers bring the New Orleans and Chicago styles of traditional jazz to life in each performance. In the tradition of musical excellence established by the Heritage of America Band, the Heritage Ramblers are sure to get toes tapping, hands clapping, and put smiles on faces wherever they perform. Footnotes Tap Ensemble 10th Anniversary Performance Guest starring Bessie-Award winner and NYC STOMP’s Michelle Dorrance. Footnotes Tap Ensemble, a non-profit professional tap company, was founded by Robin Vail and Mimi Benjamin in 2002. The Ensemble’s mission is to promote, educate and perform this truly unique American dance art through annual ensemble concerts, community concerts and tap workshops. The Ensemble continues to gain recognition throughout the Triangle, and the tap community for its varied and highly acclaimed repertoire and affordable workshops teaching “classic tap.” Footnotes has commissioned works from Michelle Dorrance, Josh Hilberman, Robert Perera, Dorothy Wasserman, Lane Alexander and Gene Medler, Director of the highly acclaimed North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble. Christmas Production: In One Basket By Shirley Pugh Jingle Bell Jukebox By Andy Beck and Brian Fisher. In One Basket, by Shirley Pugh, is a series of seven folk and fairy tales about life, family, wishes and happiness. Eleven actors ages 10 to adult will play the 34 unique characters. Jingle Bell Jukebox, by Andy Beck and Brian Fisher, is a wonderful holiday musical about a group of young folks getting into the holiday spirit as they dance and sing to the jukebox at the local diner! 1 adult plus 14 actors ages 10-18 will bring this musical to life! Director: Kathleen Rudolph, Raleigh Little Theatre. Musical Director and Choreographer: Andy Beck.
About Auditions: Ages 10 to adult are eligible to audition. Please prepare a one minute comedic monologue to present at auditions. Also bring sheet music in the appropriate key of a short up-tempo musical theatre or Christmas song if you are interested in auditioning for the musical, Jingle Bell Jukebox. In addition, please come prepared to move, wearing sneakers or jazz shoes and comfortable clothes. Cold readings from the scripts will be done during the call back process. Please fill out a Conflict Calendar listing any and all conflicts you have from October 22 through December 16.
