The Apex Peak Republican Club will see some changes in 2013, and they hope one of biggest changes will be some new faces at their monthly meetings.

The Apex GOP’s first meeting of 2013 was Jan. 14 at Anna’s Pizza. John Underwood was elected as the club’s new president, replacing Gene Schulze. Schulze, who is Apex Mayor Pro Tem, helped found the club and served two terms as the club’s president.

Other officers elected were Darren Eustance as secretary, Rodney Graf as treasurer, and Chad Price as director.

Incoming President John Underwood says that increasing the club’s membership will be one of his top priorities.

“The North Carolina Republican Party had great success in our most recent election, and we hope to continue that success into the 2013 elections,” said Underwood. “The Apex Peak Republican Club is in its fourth year of providing opportunities for Apex conservatives to learn, socialize, and become active in local politics. In 2013, we look forward to expanding on our successes and invite you to join us.”

The Club plans to be involved in the 2013 local elections, which will include some school board seats and three Apex Town Council seats. The Apex Peak Republican Club meets the second Monday of each month at Anna’s Pizza in Downtown Apex at 7 p.m.
