The Apex Chamber of Commerce and its Education Committee recently honored Apex Teachers of the Year for their outstanding performance and commitment to students with a recognition event.
The teachers, who were selected by their respective schools, enjoyed a delicious lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse and kind words from Apex Mayor Keith Weatherly, Wake County School Board Member Susan Evans, and Area Superintendent Clinton Robinson in appreciation of their hard work and dedication to their students.
Teachers honored were: Apex High School - David Zies; Laurel Park Elementary - Mike Hosterman and teacher assistant Marcia Dale; Salem Middle - Erin Duffy; Salem Elementary - Jamie Gray and teacher assistant Manu Pinkus; Baucom Elementary - Amanda Kearns and teacher assistant Hilarie Erb; Lufkin Road Middle - Jennie Jones; Apex Middle School - Paige Hutto; Olive Chapel Elementary - Rachael Stauffer and teacher assistant Ronda Oliver; Apex Elementary - Kelly Nuckols.
The Apex Chamber honors annual award-winning teachers each year, stressing the importance of quality schools and teachers to the future of local commerce. College Nannies + Tutors generously sponsored this event, and Modern Woodmen of America sponsored engraved crystal paperweights provided by 5 Star Awards for each teacher as a show of appreciation for their achievement.
