Have you ever had the urge to stand in front of crowd and sing or dance or play a musical instrument? How about perform magic tricks, tell jokes or recite a poem?
Well, now is your chance.
Auditions for the Second Annual Halle’s Follies Talent Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in downtown Apex.
The talent show will actually be held twice on Saturday, Oct. 10. The first show is at 2 and the second begins at 7 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded at both shows.
The event, which is being organized by the Apex Keenagers, is a fundraiser for the arts center. Organizer Carol Hoffman is urging both “talented” and “untalented” performers to give it a try.
“It was a blast last year,” said Hoffman. “People really enjoyed themselves and we had nice crowds at both shows. We’re hoping for the same thing this year.
“I’d like to see a real variety of talent. That includes singing, dancing, playing an instrument, reciting poems and many other things.”
There are also no age requirements for those adventurous enough to get up on stage.
“Just like we said last year it is open to anyone from one to 101 years old,” said Hoffman. “This is for all age groups.”
