Wake County is pleased to report that many citizens in the priority groups for the H1N1 injectable and nasal mist vaccine have received it. However, due to citizen interest, the supply of vaccine is temporarily depleted and the County has temporarily closed its H1N1 influenza vaccination clinics, effective at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009. The County will notify the news media when clinics are restocked and reopened.

"While the five Wake County H1N1 clinics that opened this morning have run out of vaccine, many physicians and pharmacies in our community do have vaccine available." said Wake County Community Health Director Sue Lynn Ledford. "People should call their primary care provider or local pharmacy if they would like to receive the H1N1 vaccine. If they are unable to find vaccine in these places, then they should consider getting the vaccine from the County."

While Wake County has temporary run out of vaccine, the County anticipates that there will be sufficient supply of H1N1 vaccine for everyone who wants it over the next few months.
