The nationally famous Allan Handelman with WZKT-FM, 101.1 will broadcast his show live from 4-7 p.m. at Studio 123, located at 117 North Salem Street in Historic Downtown Apex.

Joining Handelman on the show will be J. C. Knowles, of Apex, an authority on antiques and collectibles. Knowles is currently teaching a course in antiques at North Carolina State University through the Encore program. Knowles was an auctioneer for 40 years and owned several antique shops.

The public is invited to bring up to two items to be appraised on the air. Knowles tells The Apex Herald the show has been very popular with Handelman as host.

The two men, Handelman and Knowles go back many years when they did this same program on WPTF for several years.

The roadshow was recently held in Greensboro as a waiting line waited for their turn to learn what they had, how old it was and what it's value was.

Knowles said one gentleman brought a Revolutionary War Rifle that was worth several thousand dollars. People called in from all over North Carolina and Virginia to speak to Knowles on the air. The show to be held in Apex is free to the public.

The Roadshow is being held in conjunction with Christmas on Salem Street, sponsored by the Apex Downtown Business Association.
