This award symbolizes outstanding accomplishments and a commitment to excellence, and helps girls build skills, explore careers, gain leadership skills, and make a commitment to self-improvement. For her Girl Scout Silver Award project, McNeill made two bookshelves for the new Apex Police Station and collected children’s books to keep children entertained when their parents go to police station file reports.
McNeill is the daughter of David and Jane McNeill.
She has been a Girl Scout since 2001 and is a member of Girl Scout Troop 287 led by Jane McNeill and Deborah Menius.
In addition to Girl Scouting, McNeill is a member of her church youth group and enjoys playing volleyball. Huggins helped lead a Bridging to Teens weekend for younger girl Scouts for her Girl Scout Silver Award project. She taught the girls about recycling while helping them complete their first Interest Project, the Just Jewelry Interest Project.
Huggins is the daughter of Hank and Jen Huggins.
She has been a Girl Scout since 2002 and is a member of Girl Scout Troop 12 led by Carin Sink and Pam Sutherland.
In addition to Girl Scouting, Huggins is a member of CASL Soccer, National Junior Honor Society, Anime Club, and Creative Writing Club. She also volunteers for the Holly Springs Cultural Center, Middle Creek Elementary School and the Boy Scouts.
For her Girl Scout Silver Award project, Pompeo planned an event to teach Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors about healthy lifestyles. The girls learned valuable facts while playing games and earning a badge. Pompeo is the daughter of Joseph and Stephanie Pompeo.
She has been a Girl Scout since 2000 and is a member of Girl Scout Troop 1842 led by Betsy Bates. In addition to Girl Scouting, Pompeo is a member of Spanish Club and Key Club.
She is also an ESL tutor and assists a special needs girl in a younger Girl Scout troop.
For her Girl Scout Silver Award project, Sink collected knitted 8-inch by 8-inch squares to send to Knit-a-Square, an organization that combines these squares to make blanks for AIDS orphans in Africa. She also participated in the Bridge to Teens weekends and held a workshop for the bridging girls to learn how to knit.
Sink is the daughter of Mike and Carin Sink.
She has been a Girl Scout since 2002 and is a member of Girl Scout Troop 12 led by Carin Sink and Pamela Sutherland. In addition to Girl Scouting, Sink is a member of Peak United Methodist Church Youth Group and the Salem Middle School band, volleyball, and track and field.
