The meeting on Wednesday was attended by the Commander of the Nicaraguan Army, General Julio Caesar Avilas, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the FAH, Major General Tito Livio Moreno.
The meeting handled the fifteenth development of Operation Santino-Morason in areas near the common border.
Both military forces pledged to provide “the best conditions of security, stability, peace and tranquility for the people living in the border areas for their daily activities.”
They also agreed to expand bilateral cooperation mechanisms “in the interest of maintaining a concerted effort to confront common threats affecting the border areas.”
They also spoke of continuing the exchange of information and intelligence in real time.
Among the key results, the Nicaraguan military cited the seizure of 551.96 kilograms of cocaine and 88,625 pounds of processed marijuana.
For their part, the FAH pointed to the blocking of a secret airspace and the seizure of two weapons for public use, including a Fiji-7 grenade, 66 nine-millimeter bullets, 146 bars of Emulex ammunition and 150 pounds of ammonium nitrate.
